International Shaolin Wushu Expert Association

In order to broaden Shaolin kungfu culture and unify kungfu professionals around the globe, Shaolin Temple Wushu Training
Center set up International Shaolin Wushu Experts Association in
2011. The Association owns a distinctive brand image and the standard mode of operation, clear regulations on kungfu technical grade appraisal and promotion.Overseas branches would be set up in a unified pattern and senior kungfu coaches would be appointed to teach in those branches in guidance with unified teaching textbooks. The Branches shall progressively develop the sub-branches based on the local situation, thus to build up a huge network of Shaolin cultural brand promotion.
The branches of Shaolin Temple Wushu Training Center will work as the local business agent and service institutions, supervised by the headquarters of Shaolin Temple Wushu Training Center in China. In principle, only one branch is allowed to set up in one area. The basic business is to provide intense training, evaluation exams,competition and other membership activities for the Association. The extending business will be carried out in the later period, such as cultural exchange and teaching Zen Buddhism culture, Shaolin medicine (massage, acupuncture and moxibustion), Shaolin arts (Chinese painting, Tea ceremony,etc); vegetarian diet in catering trade; promoting Shaolin culture into the local schools, enterprises, communities, etc; Travel service and students study abroad intermediary agency,etc.

Constitution

Chapter 1  Name and Objectives
Article 1  Name
The name of the association shall be the International Shaolin Wushu Experts Association, hereinafter to as ISWEA. Its headquarters shall be located in the Shaolin Temple Wushu Training Center, Dengfeng City, Henan Province,China.
Article 2  Objectives
The objectives of the ISWEA shall be:
2.1 to promote and encourage the development of Shaolin wushu in all possible manifestations throughout the world.
2.2 to organize the World Shaolin Wushu Championships and other activities of the ISWEA.
2.3 to promote and encourage the development of international exchanges.
2.4 to promote cooperation, friendly relations and mutual understanding among its Members.
2.5 to improve the health of the people in the world through Shaolin wushu competitions and exercises.

Article 3  Languages
The official languages of the ISWEA shall be Chinese and English. Any other language may be used at meetings providing that adequate translation is provided.
Chapter 2  Membership
Article 4  Membership Eligibility
4.1 The ISWEA shall be open to all Shaolin wushu associations of all nations and regions, and Shaolin wushu federations of all continents.
4.2 The constitution and rules of a Unit Member must not be in conflict with those of the ISWEA.
4.3 Membership eligibility shall be periodically examined. All ISWEA Members shall constantly try to unite other organizations in their nations or regions. Any Member found not trying to extend its federation or to include and unify all interested individuals and groups, will risk the termination of its ISWEA membership until the time when unification is reached with other groups.

Article 5  Rights and Duties of Members
5.1.1 to participate in the World Shaolin Wushu Championships and other activities organized by the ISWEA.
5.1.2 to use the services of the ISWEA;
5.1.3 to be recognized as an authorized Shaolin Wushu promoting body of the relevant region.
5.2  All Members are obliged:
5.2.1 to respect the chapter of the ISWEA and to display the lofty spirit of Shaolin wushu;
5.2.2 to support the ISWEA in its efforts to achieve its objectives;
5.2.3 to observe the ISWEA Constitution and Rules;
5.2.4 to implement the resolutions of the ISWEA Executive Committee and Congress;
5.2.5 to pay the annual membership fee.

Article 6  Membership Fee
6.1 The annual membership fee enables the Member to enjoy the benefits and privileges of the membership.
6.2 It is obligatory for Members to pay the membership fee to the ISWEA Secretariat.
6.3 The Executive Committee may decide to suspend the membership of a Member for not paying the membership fee to the ISWEA when it is due. This Member shall not have the right to vote or stand for election or to be elected in the Congress, and will be barred from participating in the World Wushu Championships and other ISWEA activities until the fee is paid in full. A Member will be expelled from the ISWEA if it does not pay the membership fee for two years in succession.

Article 7  Organizational Structure
The following entities are established to govern and administer the ISWEA:

-Executive Committee
-External Contact Committee
-Technical Committee

Article 8  Branches
The ISWEA shall extend its association throughout the world by setting up overseas branches. The ISWEA shall absorb the first-grade unit members in major cities of different countries, then the first-grade unit members shall absorb the second-grade unit members, then the third-grade members. Unit members shall recruit individual members. The name of branches shall be “International Shaolin Wushu Experts Association XX (city name of location) Branch.”

1. Logo of the Training Center

Here is the logo of Shaolin Temple Wushu Training Center. The central “W” is the first letter of the word "Wushu(martial arts)", which is designed to be a strong man, raising his arms to practice kungfu. It also looks like a monk who is meditating. Combing kungfu with meditation, which is the essence of Shaolin culture, is displayed in this logo.The surrounding olive leaf symbolizes friendship and peace. The bright green color is transmitting a message, that is, kungfu practice brings people passion and vitality.
